Get the exact boost in AP History that you need! Our Senior Instructor who holds a MIT PhD in Political Science brings top critical thinking and communication (speaking and writing) techniques and a very broad knowledge of history to bear for you. His own books and writings span the ancient, medieval, modern and postmodern eras and compass US, European, Hellenic and Chinese civilizations. Moreover, in a sense he’s been where you are, receiving a Grade of 5 in US History Advance Placement. He can position you to excel in US, European and World Histories, secure those college credits and even help you anticipate courses that you might want to take once in college. Once you are in college, you may also benefit from SDI’s other Humanities Coaching services.
How does our coaching work?
It begins with free consultation. Call us and let us discuss what your son or daughter wants to accomplish. Then book a block of time, whether the minimum of 4 hours or more. A short time (a day or several days) before the start of the scheduled coaching–and at no extra cost–our instructor will anticipate the coaching and talk to your son or daughter about the specific goal he or she wants to reach, including the period of history involved, and the specific challenge or challenges they face whether research, analysis or writing. This anticipation can take anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes. Thereafter our instructor crafts a strategy and prepares in advance of the scheduled coaching the way forward. The actual coaching comes next. The student is invited to correspond via email after or long after the coaching is completed. It can be quite helpful to correspond not too long before the AP Examination and once in college. Based on the outcome of this correspondence, the student may want to book additional coaching time whether in preparation for the AP Examination or in order to better navigate the curriculum while in college (see SDI’s other Humanities Coaching services).
